Truth and only the truth – that is the aim of my historical inquiry. I am a free individual, possessing ample means to remain independent of others’ opinions. I do not write on commission and do not engage in political endeavors on behalf of behind-the-scenes or governmental circles. This is why writing comes easily to me. Historians of the past have always been captives of others’ ideas, perspectives, and objectives – it was their way of existence – a profession for which they received their “thirty pieces of silver.” Consequently, although they possessed historical knowledge, they adapted these insights to orders, distorting facts and manipulating historical materials to suit the desired outcome. It was an incredibly taxing and arduous undertaking.
My task is much easier and simpler – I write as it actually happened. I don’t adapt historical facts to a pre-determined plan; I simply present the facts as they are.
